I want to thank everyone who helped bring this film to life.
This is one of the biggest projects I’ve had the privilege to direct so far, and it has been an incredible journey from start to finish.
Over thirteen shooting days, we worked with an extraordinary crew, countless contributors, and many people who reshuffled their schedules to make this project possible. Together, we travelled to places that are no longer easily accessible, climbed aboard some of the largest vessels I have ever seen, and found ourselves in situations that were as exhilarating as they were humbling.
I remember standing on the edge of a dredging vessel racing across the Ocean, feeling how small I was in comparison to the forces of nature and engineering surrounding me. Time and again, I found myself in environments that felt completely unfamiliar, almost impossible to comprehend until you experience them firsthand. Worlds that most people never get to see.
What I will remember most, however, is the generosity and dedication of everyone involved. The openness with which the Jan De Nul teams welcomed us into their world. The trust from the people at Base Design. The support from everyone at ILA. And the commitment, talent and resilience of the entire crew who helped make this film what it is.
Thank you all. It was a privilege to be part of it.
